Notice of Adoption: Ordinance No. 2026.09/454 Amendments to the Unified Development Code - Residential Uses and Accessory Dwelling Units

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the Buchanan City Commission adopted Ordinance No. 2026.09/454 on September 14, 2026.

The ordinance amends the City of Buchanan Unified Development Code regarding residential uses and dwelling definitions, including Accessory Dwelling Units, attached dwelling units, residential uses in the Downtown and Suburban Commercial Districts, and related definitions.

A complete copy of the ordinance is available for review on the City of Buchanan website and at Buchanan City Hall, 302 N. Redbud Trail, Buchanan, Michigan 49107.

The ordinance becomes effective fifteen (15) days after adoption and publication as required by the City Charter.
