Buchanan Unified Development Code (Zoning Ordinance) and Zoning Map

In December 2025, the City Commission adopted the Unified Development Code which replaced the previous zoning ordinance that was adopted in September 2003 and amended over time.   The new document established new zoning districts and regulations while incorporating sign regulations.  A new zoning map was also created.

The purpose of the Unified Development Code (zoning ordinance) is to provide written regulations and laws that define how property in specific geographic zones can be used and developed.
