City of Buchanan Master Plan

The Planning Commission began working on a new Master Plan in January 2026 for the community to help guide development for the next 10 to 20 years.  To help with this process the city has contracted with the Southwest Michigan Planning Commission to provide support. It is anticipated the plan will be completed in early 2027.

As part of the process an on-line survey is available until Monday, April 20, 2026 or using the QR Code found on the "Buchanan Master Plan Survey Flyer" below under Supporting Documents.  This is your time to provide comments. 

Once the results are tabulated the Planning Commission will work to address the comments heard.  To learn more attend a Planning Commission meeting or review the agenda packets.  Future public engagement activities take place.
