Veteran's Memorial Park

Veteran's Memorial Park is considered a Block Park on 1.1 acres and located at the north-east corner of Redbud Trail and Front Street.

The Buchanan Garden Club has generously landscaped the corner of the park and the dedication of its members maintain it all year long.  Their plantings are beautiful.

This park is also referred to as the Duck Pond Park for the large pond and ducks that lived there. The City of Buchanan removed the McCoy creek dam as part of the McCoy Creek Restoration Project, which supported the former Mill race and improved fish habitats in the creek.

Veteran's Memorial Park features a Veteran's Memorial, picnic area with tables and McCoy Creek flowing through the center.  A "Duck Crossing" sign has been posted on Redbud Trail and in the spring you will see vehicles stopped for momma duck and her little ducklings as they cross the street.
