Public Notice: Adoption of Ordinance No. 2026.02/446

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the City Commission of the City of Buchanan, Berrien County, Michigan, adopted Ordinance No. 2026.02/446 at its Regular Meeting held on Monday, February 9, 2026.

Ordinance No. 2026.02/446 is an Ordinance to amend Chapter 102 – Utilities to add Article V, Section 102-177, titled “Sewer Laterals and Appurtenances.” The Ordinance clarifies that property owners are responsible for the maintenance and repair of their sewer laterals from the building to the public sewer main, including portions located beneath public streets.

Ordinance No. 2026.02/446 will take effect on March 6, 2026.
