Notice of Second Reading and Enactment: City Commission September 28, 2026, at 7:00 pm., Ordinance 2026.09/455, Workforce Housing Payment in Lieu of Taxes (PILOT) Ordinance

NOTICE OF SECOND READING AND ENACTMENT

Notice is hereby given that the Buchanan City Commission will consider the second reading and enactment of Ordinance 2026.09/455, Workforce Housing Payment in Lieu of Taxes (PILOT) Ordinance, at its regular meeting on Monday, September 28, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. at Buchanan City Hall, 302 N. Redbud Trail, Buchanan, Michigan 49107.

The proposed ordinance would establish a process through which qualifying workforce housing developments or rehabilitation projects may receive an exemption from ad valorem property taxes and instead pay an annual service charge in lieu of those taxes.

A copy of the proposed ordinance is available for public inspection at Buchanan City Hall during regular business hours.

The City of Buchanan will provide necessary reasonable auxiliary aids and services to individuals with disabilities upon reasonable advance notice. Please contact the City Clerk’s Office at 269-695-3844 for assistance.
