NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
PROPOSED L&L AIR TRIM PLANT REHABILITATION DISTRICT
PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the Buchanan City Commission will hold a public hearing to receive comments regarding the proposed establishment of the L&L Air Trim Plant Rehabilitation District pursuant to Public Act 198 of 1974, as amended. On September 14th, 2026, starting at 7:00 PM.
Proposed district
The proposed Plant Rehabilitation District includes the following properties owned by L&L Air Trim Collection Systems, LLC:
- 600 Cecil Street
Parcel No. 58-0036-0259-01-3 - 607 Berrien Street
Parcel No. 58-6900-0033-01-4 - 701 Berrien Street
Parcel No. 58-6900-0028-00-2
The requested district is being considered to permit the possible rehabilitation of obsolete industrial property and to allow the property owner to apply separately for an Industrial Facilities Exemption Certificate under Public Act 198 of 1974.
Establishment of the district would not, by itself, approve or grant a tax exemption.
At the public hearing, the owners of property within the proposed district and other residents or taxpayers of the City of Buchanan will have the right to appear and be heard regarding the establishment of the proposed district. Michigan law specifically requires that an opportunity be provided before the district may be established.
