NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the City Commission of the City of Buchanan, Berrien County, State of Michigan, will hold a public hearing at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, February 9th, 2026, at Buchanan City Hall, 302 N. Redbud Trail, Buchanan, Michigan. The purpose of the public hearing is to hear public comments on a proposed Ordinance 2026.02/446, An Ordinance to amend Chapter 102 Utilities to add Article V. Section 102-177 Sewer Laterals and Appurtenances. The proposed ordinance clarifies that property owners are responsible for maintaining and repairing their sewer laterals from the building to the public sewer main, including areas under streets. Following the public hearing, the City Commission will hold its Regular Meeting, during which it will consider the second reading and enactment of Ordinance 2026.02/446.
