STATE GENERAL ELECTION
TO BE HELD TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 3, 2026
To the qualified electors of the City of Buchanan:
NOTICE OF REGISTRATION
Please take notice that any qualified elector of the City of Buchanan who is not already registered may register to vote at the office of the Buchanan City Clerk, the office of the Berrien County Clerk, a Secretary of State branch office, or another designated state agency. Registration forms may be obtained at the Buchanan City Clerk’s Office or at mi.gov/vote and mailed to the Buchanan City Clerk. Voters who are already registered may update their registration with their local clerk or at mi.gov/vote.
The last day to register in any manner other than in person with the local clerk is Monday, October 19, 2026. After this date, anyone who qualifies as an elector may register to vote in person with proof of residency, as provided by MCL 168.492, at the Buchanan City Clerk’s Office, 302 N. Redbud Trail, Buchanan, MI 49107, through 8:00 p.m. on Election Day.
The Buchanan City Clerk will be available to receive voter registrations on Election Day, Tuesday, November 3, 2026, from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
ELECTION DAY
Notice is hereby given that a State General Election will be held in the City of Buchanan, Berrien County, Michigan, on Tuesday, November 3, 2026.
The polls will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
The City of Buchanan polling locations are as follows:

The election will be held for the purpose of electing candidates for federal, state, judicial, educational, and local offices, including Governor and Lieutenant Governor, Secretary of State, Attorney General, United States Senator, Representative in Congress – 5th District, State Senator – 17th District, State Representative – 37th District, members of the State Board of Education, University of Michigan Board of Regents, Michigan State University Board of Trustees, and Wayne State University Board of Governors. Voters will also elect candidates to the Michigan Supreme Court, Court of Appeals, Circuit Court, Probate Court, and District Court; members of the Lake Michigan College Board of Trustees; three City of Buchanan Commissioners; and three members of the Buchanan Community Schools Board of Education.
Voters will also consider two statewide ballot proposals and one City of Buchanan ballot proposal. State Proposal 2026-1 asks whether a convention of elected delegates should be convened in 2027 to conduct a general revision of the Michigan Constitution. State Proposal 2026-2 concerns campaign contributions from certain regulated utilities and government contractors and campaign finance regulations applicable to political communications. The City of Buchanan Dial-A-Ride Millage Renewal asks voters whether to renew and levy 0.80 mill for four years, 2027 through 2030, for public transportation services, including Dial-A-Ride Transit.

During Early Voting, Saturday, October 24, 2026, through Sunday, November 1, 2026, polls for all City of Buchanan electors will be located at:

October 28: 11:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.
October 29: 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
October 30: 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
October 31: 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
November 1: 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Absentee ballots are available for all elections. Registered voters may contact the Buchanan City Clerk to obtain an application for an absentee ballot.
To comply with the Help America Vote Act, voting instructions will be available in audio format and in Braille. Arrangements for obtaining instructions in these alternative formats may be made by contacting the City Clerk in advance of the election. All polling locations are accessible for voters with disabilities. Persons with special needs, as defined by the Americans with Disabilities Act, should contact the Buchanan City Clerk’s Office.
