Meet the Instructor

Hello! I’m Officer Brianna (Brie) Schmitz and I work for Buchanan City Police Department! I have 11 years of experience in law enforcement through several other local agencies, and have been working full time for the City of Buchanan for 3 years. In 2018, I was sent to R.A.D. Instructor training and am now a certified instructor. Since then I have helped teach several R.A.D. courses with the Berrien County Sheriff’s Department, Pokagon Tribal Police Department, and Baroda-Lake Township Police Department.  Teaching women self-defense is one of the best parts of my job, and it has been incredibly inspiring to become a part of this wonderful program! I am excited to teach you how to be more aware of your surroundings, and be ready if you ever have to defend yourself. YOU CAN DO IT!
