The City of Buchanan Welcomes You! Greetings! The City of Buchanan is entering a new era of government with a new Mayor, several new Commissioners, and a relatively new City Manager. All of this could be viewed as an opportunity for a fresh look at how the City goes about the work of the people. Most citizens I have spoken with over the past two years since becoming a Commissioner are looking for value for their tax dollars, accountability and reliability through the City organization. While we are making strides in these areas, I invite you to envision what the ideal community is to you. Will the new Art Center cause an Artist Community to spring from our multi-talented population? Will we be a center of Techies that will create a Midwest Silicon Valley? Will we become known as a tourism center with our rich heritage and natural beauty on display? I believe that we may look back at this time as a pivotal moment in the history of Buchanan. We might take this chance to create a Gold Standard community that others look to for innovation, creativity, and diversity. To achieve these ideals, we must come together and work towards progressive policies, good communications, and wise use of our limited resources. With your help, we can shape the City into a future we can all be proud of.
