Automatic Utility Billing Payment Service

Automatic Utility Billing Payment Service Now Available!

The City of Buchanan is excited to offer two new convenient ways to pay your utility bills.

1. If you would like to have your future utility bills paid automatically on the due date, simply click on the green “Direct Payment Authorization Form” button, print the form, fill out and either mail, fax (695-4330) or drop off at City Hall and we will do the rest. Please allow 2 weeks to implement the first automatic payment withdrawal.

Your payment is withdrawn automatically from your checking or savings account on the due date. You will receive a billing at least 14 days before your payment is due.

2. To make an internet payment, simply click on the blue “Pay Your Utility Bill Now” button, enter your utility account number, bank account & routing number and the amount you want to pay. You can click on this screen every time you want to make a payment. This option will only withdraw money from your account when you initiate the transaction. Please allow 5 days for payment to get posted to your account. Do not use this option if you are trying to avoid disconnection, if you received a shut-off notice or a pink door card. You must make your payment at City Hall.
It is that simple, no more getting a past due notice because you misplaced your bill. No more getting a pink shut-off notice hung on your front door because you were on vacation and forgot to mail your payment in.

Question: What are the benefits of using the automatic payment plan?
Answer: Saves YOU time and money

• Save time signing, mailing or dropping check off
• Save money on check fees and stamps
• Eliminate late payment penalty charges

Best of all, we offer the above services free of charge.
